چکیده

Partial-Response Maximum-Likelihood (PRML) coding techniques overcome problems associated with intersymbol interference (ISI) on the premise that, once this interference is known, its effect can be removed. A core part of the analogue front-end of a PRML read channel, and the subject of this paper, is a continuous-time low-pass filter which carries out both pulse-shaping and noise-filtering. The maximum cutoff frequency of 75MHz is achieved using unbalanced differential pairs which cancel the parasitic pole introduced by a high-impedance output stage. This cancellation is independent of tuning. The filter was designed on a 0.25pm 2.5V digital process.

A 2 V 0.25µm CMOS 250 MHz fully-differential seventh-order equiripple linear phase LF filter

A fully-differential seventh-order 0.05° equiripple linear phase low-pass filter based on multiple loop feedback (MLF) leapfrog (LF) topology is presented for read/write channels. The filter is designed and simulated with the proposed fully balanced, highly linear operational transconductance amplifier (OTA). This OTA contains two complementary differential cross-coupled input pairs and a pair ...

A CMOS 650 MHz Seventh-order Current-Mode 0.05° Equiripple Linear Phase Filter

Read/write channels for hard disk drives (HDD) require high-frequency continuous time filters (CTF) [1-5]. A 650 MHz current-mode seventh-order 0.05° equiripple linear phase low-pass filter for computer hard disk read/write channels with data rates up to 1Gbit/s is presented in this paper. It is implemented in CMOS using a leap-frog multiple loop feedback structure. The operational transconduct...

A New Trans-admittance-Mode Biquad Filter Suitable for Low Voltage Operation

The trans-admittance-mode (TAM) might act as a transforming bridge for voltage-mode to current-mode conversion. In this study a new low voltage operated electronically tunable TAM biquad filter structure realizing all the seven standard filtering functions namely; low-pass (LP), band-pass (BP), high-pass (HP), regular-notch (RN), low-pass-notch (LPN), high-pass-notch (HPN) and all-pass (AP) fro...

A Novel Structure for Realization of a Pseudo Two Path Band-Pass Filter

In this paper, a modified auto zeroed integrator is used to design and simulate a low-voltage high-Q switched capacitor pseudo 2-path filter.  The filter is a sixth–order Chebyshev band-pass filter operating at sampling frequency of 1MHz and center frequency of 250 kHz with a quality factor of 50. The proposed filter has both low-voltage and high speed properties of the auto zeroed integrators ...
